Rhea Snaketail in a Nightgown

Description

Rhea Snaketail, the character in this iamge, is from Slightly Damned the Webcomic, made by Chu.

An idle doodle turned into a full project, and turned out decent, IMO.
Really like the lighting here, and I took a bit of a different approach at things to keep the light-source uniform between objects.

When I draw things of Rhea, I feel I have a right to call myself a fan there. A whole lot more effort goes into drawing things of her than goes into most of my own artwork. When I try to consider why that would be the case rather than the other way around, I realize that this is one of the few times where my art is intended to be end rather than a gateway or an aspect of a greater project (usually, games. My current goal is to become a great Game Developer). And so it goes. Anyway, I like the result of that extra effort this time, similar to last time I did a Rhea pic mostly for me.

I thought about making my own character that was similar to Rhea but lacked the strong ties to the original product, but thinking about it a bit more, I realize that Rhea is simply not a character I could have come up with, and not a character I could write for very well right now. I probably find her so fascinating because my internal concept of the character is something of a mystery box I've yet to open and figure out.

I'm stuck somewhere between wanting to reform and make my footprint on the net something worth following and good, and thinking about how my flaws are a large part of who I am and trying to bury them is lying to myself.

But there's no reset button for my traces all over the place, so I'll just try to do better now.
